PPG joins the ‘Giving Tuesday’ celebration for its fifth year

Community Sustainability, Global Giving

Joining forces on this annual global day of giving, PPG employees around the world came together for the fifth year to participate in Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.

Celebrated this year on Tuesday, November 30, with a theme of radical generosity, the concept that the suffering of others should be as intolerable to us as our own suffering, Giving Tuesday kicks off the global year-end charitable season. Our Europe, Middle East, Africa, French Overseas and Suriname (EMEA) region was the first to join this philanthropic initiative in 2017, with many efforts supporting the Charity Partner program.

Through the Charity Partner program, employees at each PPG EMEA location are encouraged to select a charitable organization in their local community for the entire site to rally around and support through volunteer work and a variety of fundraising efforts. PPG matches funds raised by the local facility.

This year, employees in nearly 20 countries across multiple sites engaged in the effort through interactive and creative activities that supported multiple non-profit organizations in their local communities.
